The Frame by Samsung: A TV with a difference
No matter what the size or brand of your TV, when in standby mode each one looks the same: a big black box. After 90 years of using televisions in our homes, isn’t it time we saw something different?
Fortunately, Samsung have designed The Frame, a TV with a new and ‘beautiful design that blends with your home’. The Frame enables you to get more from your TV; simply put it on standby and let it display one of 100 free pieces of artwork, all commissioned by Samsung from artists around the world. With 10 different style categories including landscapes, wildlife, urban abstract & digital art, there’s something to suit everyone. For those wanting to achieve a more personal feel, there is the option to upload your own photographs and the customisable frame ensures it fits within your home perfectly.
With an ever-expanding library of art, you can purchase new items through the Samsung Art Store and easily swap which one is being displayed through your smartphone or tablet.
The Frame uses light sensors and adapts to the room light throughout the day and is able to display 10 billion different shades of colour to further the illusion that the art is a real, painted piece. Similarly, motion sensors detect when no one is in a room, turning off the artwork display to save energy.
The Frame sits flush with the wall, just like a real picture, and the almost invisible optical wire connects the TV to the Samsung One Connect Box, which is where you connect additional devices such as games consoles and DVD players.
But don’t be fooled that all the emphasis is around the art display; The Frame is actually a stunning 4K UHD TV offering 4 times the pixels of a full HD TV, which when used with the Samsung Smart Hub gives you access to all your favourite shows from Netflix & Amazon.
Retailing from £1,199, The Frame isn’t cheap but we think it’s an investment worth making for a beautiful home. The endless possibilities and looks it can create gives you freedom to make your home truly yours, whenever you like.
