Leicester Singer-songwriter Jake Warner releases his debut EP, 'Another Cliché'
Jake Warner is a budding singer, songwriter and musician who grew up in the Leicestershire village of Thurnby. He is currently at university in Birmingham, studying for his Spanish degree, where he returned not too long ago from Spain, the place he called home for a year.
He began playing guitar around 10 years ago, and it was then that Jake’s passion for music and learning sparked. From this, he began playing various other instruments such as bass guitar, drums and piano, all of which he plays on each track on his debut EP, 'Another Cliché' - talented or what?!
Jake has now been writing music for 3 years, and his debut EP is made up of a selection of his material. “I wanted to mature as a songwriter and find my style before releasing my EP” says Jake, and it clearly shows in his music, which is well written but still has hints of boyish charm. His songs are inspired by the rap/acoustic style of Ed Sheeran and the authenticity of The Loveable Rogues, who rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent. Performing with honesty and transparency is something that is important to Jake, he’s a real and captivating artist that audiences can connect with.
Jake’s songs are written with real, personal inspirations, and are stories to be sung. “You can often follow characters through the songs” says Jake, whose lyrics are both relatable & fresh.
2018 holds a lot in store for Jake, who’s currently coming towards the end of his studies and focusing on his music. You’ll see him playing lots more shows, and busking the streets, showcasing his music to the world.
Jake’s next show is at the O2 Academy 3 in Birmingham on the 12th January 2018.
