The Loquacious Baker Coffee Shop & Bakery: Leicestershire's Newest Place To Be!
Introducing The Loquacious Baker Coffee Shop & Bakery which opened its doors in the quaint village of Burbage, Leicestershire in September this year. Owner Cathy Homer has poured her heart & soul into creating somewhere cosy but elegant for people to enjoy a tea, coffee together with a deliciously freshly made breakfast, lunch or dessert whilst being a little loquacious.
Cathy was born in Belgium & as the name suggests, she is very talkative with a passion for food. She trained as a pastry chef in Ireland & has been baking & cake decorating for over 15 years. At the start of 2018, Cathy launched her brand-new business in order to create delicious food & desserts that gets the people of Leicestershire & beyond talking.
2018 has been an incredible year so far...
In May 2018, Cathy was personally chosen by Anthea Turner to be a contributor of “The At Home Box Co” home & lifestyle subscription box. An achievement she is extremely proud of.
In August 2018, Cathy was approached by The East India Fine Food Company in London to create two exclusive desserts to showcase their exquisite ingredients. The creations are to be featured on recipe cards, their website & across social media.
In September 2018, following the successful opening on The Loquacious Coffee Shop & Bakery – Cathy began to introduce special events. From The Great Burbage Bake Off in aid of MacMillan Cancer in September which was a huge success, to a “Guess How Much I Love You” themed Children’s Afternoon Tea & even A Gin Night at The Loquacious Baker which both are coming up in December - which sold out within days.
Cathy is also hugely passionate about the #SupportLocal movement. As well as sourcing all ingredients locally, she has collaborated with a number of local businesses including Emily Robbins Flowers, The Laser People & Ned Kelly & Co Gin.
