You can visit a Leicestershire beach this summer...
Want to enjoy the sun on the beach this summer? Now you don’t have to travel too far to get there. Located 14 miles from Leicester city centre, The Blue Lagoon Beach at Bosworth Water Park was built in 2015 and prides itself on “bringing the seaside inland”. With golden sands and clear waters for swimming, it makes fun day out in sunny weather, especially as Leicester is one of the most landlocked cities in the UK. It’s a perfect place to take the family for a fun day out.
If you do want to make a weekend of it, you can camp, stay in a caravan or a delightful lakeside lodge log cabin. Set within 50 acres, there are plenty of countryside walks to do. As well as having a paddle and building sand castles, you can also play crazy golf, ride on a pedalo, enjoy ice cream at the cafe and there’s also a pirate adventure playground to allow the kids to let off a little steam.
Work is being carried out to make it bigger and better just in time for its re-opening on the 1st May! It’s completely free to use the beach at Bosworth, the only cost is the carpark - £2 at weekends. In June, July and August, the car park prices will increase slightly to £2.50 per hour at the weekends and £2 in the mid week.
