Marta Child, who founded and owns Bom Bom Patisserie cafe in Loughborough with her husband Dan, will be demonstrating her dessert-making talents on the show, which starts on Channel 4, Sunday 6th May.

Alongside Marta to represent Bom Bom Patisserie is her former Loughborough College tutor, Julie Eldridge, who taught Marta whilst she was doing a course in Patisserie and Confectionery. According to Marta, the course provided her with the skills she needed to pursue her dream of opening a coffee shop in her hometown. Marta was brought up in her mother’s restaurant back in her native country of Brazil, which is where she began to learn the art of creating desserts.

Marta commented: “It was an intense experience throughout. It was incredibly hard work, well before the competition time even started, as there was a lot of planning of recipes and designs. Julie and I learnt a lot during the process and it was certainly all-consuming for the time you are involved. Of course, it was amazing to work with such great people, talented chefs and wonderful film crew and presenters.”

Bom Bom Patisserie is a Loughborough Cafe serving fresh bakes and speciality coffee. To find out more visit www.bombompatisserie.com
