The East Midlands Food Festival returns for the 15th year from 6-7 October 2018, with around 200 stands showcasing the best food and drink from the East Midlands and beyond. There’s also the best gin, rum, vodka and whisky produced within 100 miles of Melton Mowbray.
Tickets are priced at £6 (£5 in advance), with children under 16 entering free. Advance tickets are on sale from the Visit Leicester centre in Leicester and Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in Melton Mowbray, or online from www.meltonmowbrayfoodfestival.co.uk
Celebrity chefs such as TV’s Rachel Green will be cooking up live demonstrations in the Food Theatre and the ‘Cooking Maharaja’ will also be offering a flavour of the East. Leicester’s award-winning De Montfort University Gospel Choir and the Melstrum Ukulele Band will be providing the entertainment this year. There is also a Kids Zone with plenty of activities to entertain and educate children about food.

Matthew O’Callaghan, organiser of the East Midlands Food Festival said: “Melton Mowbray has built a strong reputation as the UK’s Rural Capital of Food with good reason – our Pork Pies, Stilton cheese and other local produce are some of the best in the UK. However, we’re also reflecting the diversity of people’s tastes at this year’s Festival with street food from around the world. There are some real favourites on offer, as well as some cuisines that you may not even have tasted before!”
The Festival is organised by the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership with main sponsorship from Samworth Brothers and the support of the Melton Mowbray Market.
